The world’s largest ship loader leaves Poland for Narvik
LKAB Norge AS, Europe’s largest iron ore supplier, is investing in a new loading system at the port of Narvik in Norway. The dimensions of the ship loader from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions are impressive: weighing around 1,700 tons, it is 144 meters long and 50 meters high. The system has a loading capacity of 11,000 tons of iron ore per hour. The ship loader was built in Gdynia, Poland, and is currently being transported by ship – or more precisely a barge – to its destination north of the Arctic Circle.
